MazeTrails is free to read and has no paywall. This page explains how that is meant to work, and where things stand today.
Where we are today
We currently earn nothing from the links in our guides. No affiliate program is active, so the booking links on this site are plain links to the public pages of companies such as GetYourGuide, Viator and Booking.com. Nobody pays us when you use them, and nobody pays us to be recommended.
No advertising runs on this site today. If that changes, our cookie policy will say so before anything loads in your browser.
How the links work
Partner booking links go through an address on our site starting with /go/, for example /go/getyourguide. This lets us update destinations without rewriting guides. The redirect sets no application cookie and creates no separate affiliate-click profile, but the request may appear in hosting records like any other page request. See our privacy policy.
If we join an affiliate program
We intend to. When a program accepts us:
- a line will appear at the top of every guide that contains a paid link, before you read a single recommendation — that is what the US Federal Trade Commission requires, and it is the least a reader deserves;
- the price you pay stays exactly the same; the company pays us out of its own margin;
- this page will name the programs we have joined.
Until then, no such line appears — because it would not be true.
What it never changes
- A place or a tour is recommended because it fits the reader, not because it pays more.
- When something is not worth it, we say so, including for companies we could earn from.
- No company sees a guide before it is published, and none can ask for a change after.
- Prices and facts are dated, so you can see when they were last checked. How we do that is described in how we work.
