MazeTrails covers one country, Morocco, for people going for the first time. This page explains how a guide is made, so you can judge what you read.

These are editorial responsibilities, not claims of professional licensure or firsthand travel experience. Insurance and health information is general guidance, not personalized advice.

What a guide is built around

Each guide answers one question a first-time visitor actually asks, in plain American English, with the answer in the first few lines. Then come the details that decide the trip: how long you are really in a vehicle, what a day costs, who a tour suits, and who should skip it.

How facts are checked

Prices, durations, opening rules and official figures are taken from a named source and dated on the page, so you can see how fresh they are. We favor primary sources: official ticketing pages, UNESCO listings, national weather records, and operators' own booking pages rather than summaries of them.

Two rules matter more than the rest:

• A fact that cannot be confirmed is not published. When no reliable price exists publicly, the guide says so instead of inventing a figure.
• Nothing is presented as lived experience unless it was lived. We do not write "we stayed here" or "we took this tour" to sound credible.

What we do not do

• No copied text: guides are written from the facts, not rewritten from other blogs.
• No invented reviews, no invented prices, no invented dates.
• No sponsored placements dressed up as recommendations. How money works here is set out in the affiliate disclosure.
• No crime or violence content. Practical warnings — scams, street hassle, health and insurance — belong in a travel guide; fear does not.

Photographs and AI-generated illustrations

MazeTrails uses credited photographs alongside AI-generated editorial illustrations. Generated visuals are labeled “AI-generated illustration” in their credits. They may convey an atmosphere, an activity, or a type of landscape, but they are not documentary photographs or exact reconstructions of the places discussed.

Do not use an illustration to identify an accommodation, a trail, a transport service, or current conditions. An illustrated room, boat, or activity does not establish what a booking includes. Check the provider’s current information before booking.

We keep image provenance and credits separately from the optimized image files. Illustrations are not evidence of a visit, a review, or a firsthand experience.

Keeping guides current

Travel facts go stale: prices rise, roads close, operators change their rules. Each guide carries the date it was last updated, and we revisit a guide when something we published changes — not on a fixed calendar we could not honestly keep.

Corrections

If something here is out of date or wrong, tell us through the contact page. Corrections to facts are made on the page itself, and the update date changes with them.
