The short answer: cheap flights to Morocco are a matter of timing more than of booking sites. From the US, KAYAK's current data puts January cheapest, with round trips averaging $734, against $1,118 in May and $1,204 in June, as of November 2, 2026. Winter is the cheap season, but the exact month changed between our October 24 and November 2 readings, so compare months yourself. On a trip of a week or more, a multi-city ticket can also save you a full day on the road.
How we put this together. We do not sell flights and no airline pays us. Month and price figures come from KAYAK's US–Morocco route page, read on October 24 and again on November 2, 2026, and from Google's published analysis of US fares; holiday dates come from official calendars. KAYAK averages its past 12 months of fares with extreme outliers removed. Google Flights and Skyscanner gave us no comparable monthly figure to cross-check. Fares change daily: every number here is a dated benchmark, not a quote.
Flights are step three of a longer list; the whole sequence, from the season to the last tour, is in our first-timer's guide to planning a trip to Morocco.
Key takeaways
- On KAYAK as of November 2, 2026, a round trip from the US to Morocco averaged $734 in January, the cheapest month, against $1,118 in May and $1,204 in June, the priciest, with a year-round average of $999.
- KAYAK's cheapest month for US–Morocco flights changed from February to January between readings on October 24 and November 2, 2026, so the cheap season is winter rather than one fixed month.
- Nonstop flights from the US to Morocco land mostly in Casablanca on Royal Air Maroc, plus a seasonal United flight to Marrakech; other itineraries require at least one connection.
- Google's data on international fares from the US puts the lowest prices about 89 days before departure, with little difference anywhere between 50 and 133 days out.
- A multi-city ticket to Morocco, flying into Marrakech and home from Fes, avoids a train ride of about seven hours back to your arrival city.
Cheapest month to fly to Morocco: the pattern behind the price
KAYAK's current US-wide data identifies January as the cheapest month and May and June as the two most expensive. It publishes no figure for the other nine months, so the table below does not invent a curve for them.

The cheapest month is not stable. On October 24, 2026, the same KAYAK page named February the cheapest month, at $483, with May at $669 and June at $722. By November 2 it named January, at $734, and every figure was higher. KAYAK's figures roll over 12 months of fares, so they shift. Both readings agree on the pattern: the low point falls in winter and the peak in May and June.
| Period | Fares from the US | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| January–February | Lowest: January averaged $734 (Nov 2); February led at $483 on Oct 24 | Ramadan 2027 is expected to start around February 8 |
| March–April | No KAYAK figure | Eid al-Fitr 2027 is expected around March 10; France's spring breaks run April 3 to May 3 by zone |
| May–June | Highest: $1,118 and $1,204 averages (Nov 2) | KAYAK's two priciest months from the US |
| July–December | No KAYAK figure | Opération Marhaba, the diaspora's summer return, ran to September 15 in 2026; KAYAK labels October low season by traveler numbers |
How much does a flight to Morocco cost?
On KAYAK as of November 2, 2026, a round trip from the US averaged $999 over the past 12 months, with a typical range of $780 to $1,258; KAYAK calls anything under $780 a good deal. Its monthly averages run from $734 in January to $1,204 in June. They are not a quote for every origin: where you start and the dates you pick move the live price.
Round trip from the US to Morocco on KAYAK
Checked November 2026Read these as dated benchmarks, not a promise: on October 24, the same page showed monthly figures a third to 40% lower. For your own trip, trust a full-month price view over any "cheapest month" headline. European routes follow different data and should be priced separately.
The rest of the budget, rooms to tours, is in our breakdown of what a week or 10 days in Morocco costs, flights set aside.
When to book a flight to Morocco
Google analyzed five years of Google Flights data on departures from the US. International fares hit their lowest about 89 days out, within a low range of 50 to 133 days where the difference is insignificant.
KAYAK's US–Morocco page, as of November 2, 2026, puts the best time to book at 22 weeks before departure, about 5% below a booking made in the last two weeks. On October 24, the same page said 17 weeks. Our cautious reading of both sources: start watching fares about five months out and buy roughly two to five months ahead. For a spring trip, that means watching in the fall and buying by winter.
The weekday you book on barely matters: Google measured about 1.4% between the cheapest and dearest day. The days you fly matter more: leaving on a Monday and returning midweek saved about 14% over weekend flights, per Google, and KAYAK finds Wednesday departures to Morocco 9% cheaper than Saturday ones.
Ramadan, Eid and school holidays: dates to check before booking
Check these before you fix your dates.
- Ramadan 2027
- Expected to start around February 8; Morocco's moon sighting sets the official date
- Eid al-Fitr 2027
- Expected around March 10, subject to Morocco's moon sighting; we found no published data on its effect on airfares, so price those dates before you commit
- Summer diaspora return
- Opération Marhaba ran June 10 to September 15 in 2026 (Fondation Mohammed V, via Maroc.ma)
- European school holidays
- France's 2027 spring break, for one, falls between April 3 and May 3 by zone (Service-Public); check any European connection against those dates
During Ramadan, some cafés and restaurants can close during the day, so weigh any fare saving against how you want to eat.
Nonstop, one stop or multi-city?
From the US, the few nonstops land mostly in Casablanca on Royal Air Maroc, plus a seasonal United flight to Marrakech; the full list is in our airport guide, linked below. Otherwise you connect once, in one of two ways:
- One stop in Europe, for example on Air France, KLM, United or Delta. You can land directly in Marrakech.
- Royal Air Maroc via Casablanca, which times its hub to ease connections. The domestic hop to Marrakech or Fes stays on the same ticket.
A connection can undercut the nonstop, but only a search for the same dates, bags and cabin makes a valid comparison. Which Moroccan airport to land at depends mostly on your route, not the fare.
| Option | Best for | Pros | Cons |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nonstop to Casablanca | Short trips, travelers with children | Fastest, no missed connection | Lands far from the south; compare the live fare with one stop |
| One stop in Europe, one ticket | Landing straight in Marrakech | Wide choice of airlines; airline rebooks you if leg one is late | Longer day; check the layover length |
| Royal Air Maroc via Casablanca | A Moroccan airport other than Casablanca | One airline end to end, domestic hop included | Connection times vary; check the layover |
| Two separate tickets | Flexible travelers, light packers | Can undercut one ticket via a low-cost leg | A delay on leg one is your problem; bags rechecked |
| Multi-city (open jaw) | Trips of a week or more | No backtracking across the country | Not always the cheapest fare |
Two tickets, no protection. On separate bookings, the second airline owes you nothing if the first flight is late and you miss its departure. Leave a long layover, ideally a night, and check whether your travel insurance covers a missed connection: read the policy wording.

The multi-city ticket: what it saves
A classic first route enters at Marrakech and leaves from Fes, with the desert in between. On a round trip, you would go back to Marrakech at the end: about seven hours by train, a full day lost. A multi-city ticket removes that day; price both, since it can come out higher or lower.
Choose the route first, then search the ticket: the itinerary for your number of days tells you which one-way route fits your trip.
Low-cost or full-service: count the bags
A low-cost fare often looks cheaper until you add luggage, because bags are priced separately: check what your fare includes and price your real luggage before you compare. Full-service allowances also vary by fare type.
How to search for cheap flights to Morocco
Search the month, not the day. Open a full-month or date-grid view on Google Flights, KAYAK or Skyscanner and shift your dates by a few days. Set price alerts on the date pairs that work, and buy when the fare sits low in the range you have watched.
Then run the search three ways, round trip, multi-city and two one-ways, and compare totals with bags added and layovers checked.
Best option by situation
| Your situation | Best choice | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Flexible on dates | January or February, or compare October | Both KAYAK readings put the low point in winter; KAYAK labels October low season by traveler numbers |
| Spring trip, fixed dates | Watch from the fall, buy by winter | May and June are KAYAK's priciest months from the US |
| First region far from Casablanca | Compare one stop in Europe with Royal Air Maroc via Casablanca | Both land you closer than the nonstop |
| One week or more, one-way route | Multi-city ticket | No day lost backtracking |
| Long haul with a connection | One ticket, not two | The airline handles a missed connection |
| Checked bag needed | Price the bag before comparing | Bag fees can close the gap |
Once the ticket is booked
Note your landing time. If it falls after dark and your riad is in a medina, where most lanes are closed to cars, a pre-booked driver solves the first hour.

Medical cover: buy it once the dates are set
With your flight dates fixed, you know exactly which days a travel medical policy must cover. One example is SafetyWing's Nomad Insurance Essential: a $250,000 overall limit, evacuation up to $100,000 that SafetyWing must approve and arrange in advance, and no deductible, per its own pages read on October 30, 2026.
Know its limits before you buy. It does not reimburse a canceled trip, so it will not protect a nonrefundable fare; it excludes pre-existing conditions apart from a narrow emergency exception; and it is sold to travelers aged 14 days to 69 years. SafetyWing asks for extra proof for incidents in the first 72 hours after purchase, so buy it at least three days before you fly.
